(sorry for the delay) These are steel fishing leaders, you can get from most outdoor supply stores with a fishing section. The primary reason I chose a steel fishing leader is because they are designed to have a high tensile strength. Sure, it's likely overkill for a tiny camera, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Hard

The ones I picked are 18'/45.72cm long and have a rating of 20 lbs/9.08kg. (I erroneously said they were 20' above.) These ones came with little clips on them that work somewhat similarly to a safety pin. It came with 6 leaders in the package, with one clip per end, so I took the clips off of half and doubled them up so each end now has a clip. Now, if you look on any of the doors, you'll notice it has a metal bar across the bottom that clicks into the main part of the housing. (like the nylon ones that GoPro sells) or a metal fishing leader.

I'll show you what I mean: Now remember that gap I was talking about? Here it is now that the leader is attached.

It lines up exactly with the mount point of the housing. Using this method, you can still attach any GoPro mount/accessory without the leader clip getting in the way. If I'm using my GoPro on/in/near the water, I also have another floating camera strap tether that I attach as well as the fishing leader. You can squeeze a surprising number of tethers into that small gap. And since the hinge is an integral part of the GoPro's structure, it's not likely to break. Pc pakratt software download. Now, some of you may be wondering why there is velcro on the back of my door.

I decided that rather than stick the Floaty Backdoor onto a door permanently (because sometimes I like to use the Battery BacPack), I opted to use industrial velcro instead. So far, it seems to hold up pretty well.

Keep in mind, I double up on the floatation devices while near the water. Any other questions/clarifications? TL;DR: Small gap in the plastic where the hinge attaches. Clip metal leader on there.

Enjoy your overkill tether. Already off the bike, so. Anyway, I had it clamped to the crash bars of my motorcycle (KLR650) and my old man and I went on a 810 mile, 3 day trail/road trip.

The mount held up beautifully until literally the last leg of the trip, where I'm assuming that I either finally hit a bump hard enough to break the ears off or that they finally fatigued and broke after being shaken silly for the entire time. Either way, I had run the zip tie as a 'backup' just in case. I found the GoPro dangling from the zip tie when I arrived at home.

I need to go through the pics (Time lapsed, 30 second intervals over the 3 days, so about 2500 pics) and see exactly when it happened. EDIT: It happened about an 90 minutes before we finally stopped. Zip tie left the camera dangling, but didn't let go. I'll have to look into the fishing leaders. I'm sold on tethering now!
